Shankar is counted as one of the most successful directors who has given hits like “Robot” and “I”. After the success of the eagerly awaited sci-fi “Robot 2.0”, Shankar is back yet again with his next dose of entertainment in the form of Kamal Hassan and Kajal Agarwal starrer “Indian 2”. This film has already hit the floors on December 2018 and is produced by Lycra Productions.

As per the latest rumor, Abhishek Bachchan has been approached for the role of villain in Indian 2. However, neither Shankar and his team nor Abhishek has given any confirmation about the news. But if it turns out to be true, then the film would mark the debut of Abhishek in Kollywood. Earlier, it was also reported that Ajay Devgan has been approached for the role but due to multiple delays in the schedule, he backed off from the project. Akshay Kumar who was shooting for 2.0 with Shankar at that time was also rumored to have been approached for the role of the baddie but nothing has been confirmed by the crew or the actors.

Indian 2 is a sequel of the 1996 Kamal Hassan starrer Indian which also had Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar. Kamal Hassan had bagged the National award in the best actor category in 1996 for this film. Sources have revealed that Siddharth is going to play a significant role in Indian 2. The first look poster of the film is already out and Kamal Hassan has some rocking older, wiser and deadlier looks as Senapati. Fans are very excited for the film as it is officially the last film of Kamal Hassan before he turns his hands to politics.

Even though most of the cast and crew are yet to be revealed but the music of Indian 2 would be given by Anirudh Ravichander. Shankar said that he is really thrilled to see Kamal Hassan playing the role of Senapati, who was a freedom fighter and has turned vigilant to root corruption out from the country.
