Trinity College was founded in 1851. It was established by Bishop John Strachan. Following the University of Toronto’s break from the Church of England, Strachan originally planned Trinity to be a school with a strong Anglican orientation. The building at Trinity College is very beautiful. The main building, the chapel, the dining hall, and the quad are all stunning. The lawns of the college are really lovely; in the summer, you can simply go there and sit while getting some sun. There are many unique traditions at Trin, like the matriculation ceremony, the gown-ins, the Lit discussion on the subway, Shakespeare in the Quad, and happy Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
